Prudential Ride London

Prudential RideLondon this July

This July the Prudential RideLondon cycling event takes place across central London, stay at The Levin and let our team help you make the most of the action.

The annual 3 day cycling festival takes place over 28th-30th July,  beginning with a day of races at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Friday 28th.

On Saturday the whole family can join in with the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle, a traffic-free circuit taking in London’s most well known landmarks with festival zones and entertainment along the way. This event is open to all ages and abilities and registration is free!  Alternatively watch the professionals take on the Classique – a 5.5km race between the world’s top female cyclists.

On Sunday, 25,000 amateur cyclists take on the Surrey 100 and there really is no other closed-road event like it. Similar to The London Marathon the professional cyclists race largely the same 100 mile route as the amateurs in the Classic finishing up at Buckingham Palace.

Whether it’s a carb-loading restaurant reservation for the competitors, bicycle hire for any newly inspired cyclists or a viewpoint recommendation for the spectators, it always helps to plan ahead and our team will be happy to help plan your day.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 route passes through some of London’s most iconic areas, starting in the London Olympic Park and finishing on The Mall at Buckingham Palace. The race passes through Knightsbridge, practically past our front door, early birds can catch the fastest riders around 6:15am, while those enjoying a more leisurely start to the day can have breakfast in The Knightsbridge Metro and catch cyclists up until around 10:30.

Drop into Harrods, next door, as you wait and explore the numerous designers, restaurants and world-renowned food halls, you’ll never go hungry.

Then head across Green Park (or cycle if you’re feeling inspired, hire a Santander Cycle from as little as £2) to watch the competitors cross the finish line at Buckingham Palace. The fastest riders are expected from around 9.40am but will continue to cross the finish line all day.

With mild temperatures forecast, it looks like an ideal day for exploring London outdoors, though of course it pays to be prepared for our classic British weather!
